However, recent data reveals that women now account for 9.5% of all professional drivers and occupy significant leadership positions as well; approximately 28% of C-Suite/executive roles and 34.5% of supervisory positions are held by women.

Chris Baer, President and CEO of VIPAR Heavy Duty, emphasizes the importance of diverse voices in leadership. Since assuming this role in 2017, Baer has implemented a new management structure aimed at fostering leadership opportunities for a wider range of individuals within the organization. By flattening the leadership team, Baer has not only streamlined operations but has also created a platform for women to thrive—as demonstrated by the fact that 51% of VIPAR Heavy Duty’s staff are women, with several in leadership roles.
